| Who needs this qualification?
This qualification has been developed in response to demand from the industry and its regulators to provide an assessed training programme for full and part-time staff who work on licensed retail premises who are, or are likely to be, involved in the sale of alcohol including: Bar staff, Waiters/Waitresses, Supermarket Cashiers and Licensed Shop Cashiers, in any Licensed Premises including: Pubs, Bars, Hotels, Restaurants, Licensed Shops, Supermarkets, Convenience Stores, Licensed Retail Stores, Sports and Social Clubs, Entertainment Venues, Nightclubs, Casinos, and Leisure Parks.
When successfully achieved along with the BIIAB Customer and Drinks Service, the candidate is automatically awarded the Professional Barperson's Qualification.

- The Nature of Alcohol and the Effect it has on the Human Body
- The Main Issues in the Licensing Act 2003 as they relate to Alcohol Retailers & Servers
- Licensing Law in relation to the Protection of Children from Harm
- The Social Responsibilities relating to the Retail Sale of Alcohol
- How to recognize Drunkenness, and Your Duty not to serve Drunk Customers
- Appropriate Strategies that can be adopted to prevent or eliminate Alcohol-Related Crime and Conflict and the Importance of Personal Safety
