Who needs this qualification? This qualification is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few Health & Safety risks and where a nominated person is required to take charge in the event of illness or injury. This course is therefore for nominated persons, as above, but is also ideal for anyone wishing or needing to develop First Aid Skills as it includes guidance on First Aid Procedures and Protocols.

- Causes of Unconsciousness and Appropriate Actions
- Resuscitation & Protocols

- Treatment of Burns & Scalds
- Treatment of Heart Attack & Strokes
- Recognition of the Symptoms of and Dealing with Shock
- Dealing with Wounds & Bleeding including Bandaging
- Recognition of Illness – Epilepsy, Diabetes, Asthma
- Reporting & Recording of Incidents as required by HSE
- Contents of HSE Approved First Aid Kit
Outcomes
On completing this qualification candidates will have the skill and competence to assist in dealing with emergency situations.
